Activities

The activities of the University of Maui are instructional at the higher education level.  Expert mentors possessing the appropriate academic credentials and teaching experience provide instruction to each student. Undergraduate and graduate degrees are awarded upon successful completion of the student’s program of study. 

The program of study is designed for each student with an emphasis upon specific topics of interest by mutual agreement between the mentor and student.  Instruction is based upon the mentoring paradigm with direct faculty interaction.  The student’s specific educational outcomes are integrated with other student learning portfolios as part of the community of learners.  Each student is required to assemble a body of knowledge according to the educational portfolio theory, which is the basis of awarding degrees.

Each student will be their program of study with a mentor after they are accepted into a program of study.  Their academic progress will be in accordance to their successful completion of the requirements of their program.
